What is Indian Head Massage?

Indian Head Massage is a therapy that focuses on the area around the head, including neck, ears, scalp and shoulders. It is based on a technique that has believed to have been practised in India for over a thousand years. The purpose of the treatment is to alleviate stress and tension in the areas around the head.

It is suitable for most adults, but a consultation should take place before with the Therapist to check if it is suitable for you as there are certain conditions wherby you should avoid this treatment. It is believed to be good for reducing stress, improving sleep and giving a greater sense of well-being.

Some Therapists use oils in the treatment, but if done without you can remain fully clothed or a large towel can be worn. Whilst undertaking treatment, you should go into a state of relaxation and calm. Indian Head Massage is designed to relax, whilst focusing on reducing stress and tension around the head.

We will shall shortly be introducing a new Therapist to the centre who practices in this area who is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists: www.fht.org.uk
